Biutiful: reflexiones sobre estéticas políticas de lo extranjero y de lo otro en el cine contemporáneo

Abstract

Biutiful (Alejandro González Iñárritu, 2010) proposes a dark aesthetics of deformation, of the weird and the strange in the construction of the characters, the images and the story about protagonist Uxbal and the Chinese and African immigrants in Barcelona, that contrast with a radiant and improbable Barcelona in Vicky Cristina Barcelona (Woody Allen, 2008). This article analyzes these and other movies as symptomatic of the massive identitarian uncertainties and precariousness of integrated global capitalism (Guattari).
