Abstract

The paper provides a study of the auto-image of the Spaniards and the image of the Other (Germans) in the films and the TV programs produced in Spain between 1963 and 2015 telling about Spanish economic emigration to Germany in 1960-1974. Using the imagological hermeneutics and discourse analysis, the author of the paper demonstrates how the popular audiovisual arts reflect transformations of Spanish national identity in the second half of the 20th and the first decades of the 21st century.
