Journalist and publicist Wolfgang Martin Hamdorf (Berlin/Madrid) describes the importance of the Malaga Film Festival for his work and recounts how he discovered Spanish cinema in Germany in the 1980s and became increasingly involved in it through an academic project on propaganda films from the Spanish Civil War.
