The Vigo Film Office’s filmography ranges from Spanish cult films, such as Los lunes al sol (2002), to global streaming series such as Operación Marea Negra (2022). Founded in 2011 as part of the Vigo Convention Bureau Foundation of the Vigo City Council, it has recently taken a step forward to promote the city as an ideal destination for filming in different audiovisual markets, as well as supporting sector initiatives taking place in Vigo. In this interview, we speak with Amaia Mauleón about the “Ruta por el Vigo de cine”, the first self-guided film tourism app in Galicia; the experience of filming the series Un asunto privados (2022) with Jean Reno and Aura Garrido in the midst of the COVID pandemic; and the importance of protecting the environment and the heritage of cities through Sustainable Filming, among many other topics.
