Abstract

The Castilla y León Film Commission (CYLFC) started its activities in 2013, but prior to its creation it had a precedent of two decades of experience in various public bodies dedicated to the management of film shoots. Thus, from the beginning, the CYLCF has become a key agent in the promotion of the region as an audiovisual destination, of interest for the attraction of the audiovisual industry and the projection of tourism. Its work includes assistance in permits, maintenance of a database of locations and management of film tourism, leveraging the impact of film and digital platforms on tourist attraction. Since 2023, its management depends on the Fundación Siglo para el Turismo y las Artes de Castilla y León. CYLFC also promotes local production through subsidies and collaborates with various provincial film commissions and film offices. In addition, it promotes international promotion at different events and develops thematic routes on outstanding film shoots.
