Abstract

The Film Commission of the comarca El Maresma northeast of Barcelona was founded in 2018 to make better use of the three outstanding location factors of the area for film productions: plenty of beaches, the good climatic conditions and the proximity to Bar­celona. In the interview, Albert Roca, one of the two people responsible for the commis­sion, emphasizes the importance of cooperation between the Maresme Film Commission and its local partners in the search for locations and productions on the one hand; with the umbrella organization Catalunya Film Commission and the neighboring commissions on the other. It is not competition that leads to success, but mutual agreements and coopera­tion.
