Abstract

The Catalunya Film Commission was created in 2007 as a part of the Barcelona Catalunya Film Commission. The two institutions separated in 2014, but continue working in sync, even sharing a website that offers, together, about 3,000 locations in Barcelona and Catalonia. Through publications such as Scouting in Catalonia (2015) or Shoot and Coproduce (2024) and in close collaboration with their colleagues at the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises, Carlota Guerrero and Laia Boixader strive to extend the interest of producers beyond the Barcelona area to the entire territory of Catalonia. One of the goals of the Catalunya Film Commission is to strengthen cooperation with international and regional film commissions in order to pay greater attention to the issues of sustainability, diversity and the possibilities of new production techniques.
