Spanish cinema, Carlos Saura, biographic perspective, history of hispanismAbstract
On the basis of two voices, the article elaborates how Spanish cinema has to some extent penetrated academic discourses in Germany. The chronological framework unfolds, from the 1970s to the present, a panorama of personal memories of two German Hispanists, Jörg Türschmann (University of Vienna) and Ralf Junkerjürgen (University of Regensburg). In the form of biographical retrospectives, they tell how they came into concrete contact with Spanish cinema and how their research work developed from this.
